Incredible trip of 10 days all around Namibia. The travel agency organised everything and personalised it. All the lodges were excellent. Can't decide what was better, the dunes in Sossusvlei, or the wildlife in the North.

Namibia was one of the most enchanting, fascinating, and beautiful countries I've ever been to!

My recent trip to Namibia was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I set foot in this captivating country, I was greeted by a landscape that seemed to stretch endlessly, offering a mesmerizing blend of natural wonders and cultural richness.

One of the highlights of my journey was the opportunity to witness Africa's magnificent wildlife in its natural habitat. Guided by the knowledgeable and charismatic Rudolf, every excursion into the wilderness felt like a chapter from a wildlife documentary come to life. From majestic lions prowling the savannah to graceful giraffes and elephants roaming the plains, every encounter left me in awe of the sheer diversity and beauty of Namibia's fauna.

The dunes of Sossusvlei painted a surreal picture against the canvas of the desert, while the rugged terrain of Damaraland offered a glimpse into the ancient history of this land. Whether it was the ethereal beauty of the Skeleton Coast or the serene tranquility of Etosha National Park, Namibia's landscapes never ceased to amaze me.

And then there were the sunsets! Words fail to capture the sheer magic of watching the sky set ablaze in a symphony of colors as the sun dipped below the horizon. Each evening felt like a celebration of nature's artistry

But perhaps the true gem of my Namibian adventure was my guide, Rudolf. His passion for his homeland was infectious, his knowledge boundless, and his commitment to ensuring an unforgettable experience for his guests unwavering. From sharing fascinating insights into Namibia's history and culture to regaling us with tales of his own adventures in the wilderness, Rudolf was more than just a guide – he was a friend, a mentor, and a source of endless inspiration.

I carry with me memories that will last a lifetime – memories of Africa's wildlife, its landscapes, its sunsets, and the remarkable people like Rudolf who make Namibia truly special.

From all the many things we worried about before booking our Namibia trip that potentially could go wrong, nothing did! I think that must my starting point of my review. We didn't get sick, we had no road accident (not one flat tyre in 4000 km of road trip), we had excellent accommodation everywhere we went, we saw amazing landscape and wildlife that photos cannot do justice. We went on adventure tours that were value for money.
Safari Bookings connected us with Lilly of Great Explorations Travel Agency. I cannot praise Lily enough. She booked our car, the accommodation from every night in 10 different locations (we spent a total of 15 nights all over Namibia) and also booked in advance for us most of the adventure activities (safaris, hot air ballon, canoeing with sea lions, 4X4 dune driving etc). Everything worked out better than we hoped.

Loved the remoteness, the wild scenery, the endless space and the adventures of traveling around the country and seeing the changing environments. I would highly recommend Namibia as a destination for a self drive safari.

Our decision to explore Namibia stemmed from its reputation for impressive and remote landscapes. Little did we anticipate the extraordinary warmth and hospitality of the Namibian people, adding a distinctive layer to our travel experience.

Engaging the services of Great Explorations Namibia, we were assisted by Anja van Neel, who demonstrated exceptional proficiency. The entire experience, from meticulously planned routes to budget considerations and hotel selections, showcased a commitment to excellence. This was particularly appreciated as first-time travelers to Africa, navigating an unfamiliar environment.

Our two-week itinerary, centered around hotel accommodations instead of camps, allowed us to appreciate Namibia's unique charm. Notable places such as Sossusvlei's towering red dunes, the otherworldly landscapes of Deadvlei, and the wildlife-rich Etosha National Park enriched our journey.

In summary, our experience was nothing short of stellar, and we eagerly anticipate a return visit. Our unequivocal recommendation stands at 100%.

A holiday to Namibia is a wonderful memory that will last a lifetime.

We had a wonderful comprehensive 16 day interary planned by the marvellous Great Explorations Namibia that looped us south from Windhoek to the Namib, West to Luderitz and then hooked back through Swakopmund and Etosha National Park. Self driving in Namibia is all about being off the beaten trek and if you are feeling adventurous/want a comfortable drive hire a long wheel base 4x4 car to absorb the lumps and bumps of the journey. October weather was perfect with cooler evenings but pleasant heat during the day. Friendly customer service was to be found at all our accomodation, the standard of produce was high, with the best seafood was in Luderitz and Swakopmund. Flights on the national carrier are often limited to a 20kg suitcase so pack lightly! Many places of interest in Namibia have airspace exclusions for UAVs to the point that it's barely worth the hassle of bringing one. On the plus side, the clear skies and lack of light pollution make this a great place to practice astrophotography as well as wildlife photography. Is there as much wildlife to spot as in other popular safari destinations? The answer is "no", but on the plus side to that equation, there are not as many tourist coaches queing up behind you at water holes etc to photograph animals when you do see them. I am delighted with the variety ofwildlife we saw. This was holiday to cherish forever.

We loved the HolidayWe are two couples in their late fifties We missed our connecting flight to windhoek due to a technical problem with the plane Safari bookings couldn't have been more helpful to change the pickup short notice. We drove to camp sossus which was probably the best catering experience we ever had .Friendly efficient staff ,beautiful recycled bungalows with star bed (you sleep outside in a proper bed with duvets and pillows Wow) wonderful food and very interesting outings From there we went to swakopmund and took a boat to the seal colonies .Pelicans and seals hoped onto the boat and we got to try freshly harvested oysters with sparkling wine and if you don't like oysters there were other goodies .Put warm clothes on .From there up the skeleton coast interesting but cold and from there to damara land .Ugab Terrace lodge Wow The staff couldn't do enough for us the view exceptional and the excursion wonderful. From there to Okutala Etoscha lodge with white rhinos and free ranging giraffes (one welcomed us on arrival at our bungalow) Food and staff again very good .Then two days in Etoscha halali resort with a very impressive waterhole ,well worth getting up early in the morning and late at night We saw elephant herds with babies black and white Rhinos oryx, kudu ,springbok, dik-diks, lions, owls vultures giraffes ,zebras , honeybadgers and many more And the hwole time we felt very safe and got value for money .We will be back Thank you for the staff in safari bookings to organize such a wonderful trip

An amazing holiday destination

We spent two and a half hugely enjoyable weeks in the company of a driver/guide travelling over 2,000 miles visiting many of the country’s main holiday attractions. Highlights included game viewing in Etosha National Park and in Erindi, the country’s largest private game reserve. At the latter we were fortunate to see a very rare, but quite spectacular, live cheetah kill. Our time further south in the desert was also at times breathtaking, whether at Deadvlei and Dune 45 in the Namib Desert, or on a 4-wheel drive safari to Sandwich Harbour.
All this was made possible for us by Criss Cross Namibia Safaris and Randi, our guide, whose knowledge, enthusiasm, conservation focus, and his jolly company made this, without doubt, a holiday to remember.
